Porous and dry surfaces should be dampened with a clean cold water to assist application of the product.

Allow good ventilation in confined areas.

Stir thoroughly before use.

When preparing surfaces for plastering, surfaces should be coated with two thin layers of Thompson’s Rubberised Bitumen Emulsion at 4.5m2 per litre. The first coat should be allowed to fully dry before the second is applied.

Whilst the second coat is still tacky it should be blinded with clean, sharp sand and allowed to dry for 48 hours before plastering

If the product has set, use a scraper to remove as much bitumen as possible and then remove the remaining paint with white spirit

Minor spillages should be wiped off the surface before the product has set

Major spillages should be mopped up immediately with an absorbent material, such as sand, and disposed of in accordance with regulations
